Why Controlled Shooting Helps Players in Craps
There have been a lot of theories and speculations lately about controlled dice shooting at the craps gaming table. A lot of gaming experts who once ridicule the idea of a player having an advantage in craps dice throwing are now supporting the idea of controlled craps dice throwing. But a lot of craps players are still wandering if controlled dice throwing is really possible.
The reason for this doubt is the term craps dice control, which is confusing for some players. Generally, no one can control the result of the dice in every throw in craps. The idea behind controlled shooting is by putting the dice in a certain position holding them and then throwing them in the lay-out each time.
This is done to change the outcome of the pair of dice when they land on the lay-out; you are trying to change the usual result of seven so that it comes up less during a throw. A lot of players have already seen a hot roll, where the shooter is throwing one good number after another.
By rolling the dice in the same position every round, some craps shooters find their rhythm and get good results. Some players are aware of doing this, while others are not conscious of what they are doing. Correctly rolling the dice consists of several factors.
1st is the set. How will the player set the pair of dice greatly affect the outcome. One of the most well-known set is the three-V set where you have threes in a letter V formation. This gives the players a hard 6(a total of three on each dice) on the top portion, the 6 (five and one) on the front, the 8:1 (six and 2) on the back portion and the hard 8(four and four) on the bottom portion of the dice. There are no seven showing from the dice on this set.
After positioning the dice, the player must then use a throw that is good enough to let the dice reach the end of the table. Players must also make sure throw that they will follow through with their initial roll. The players’ main goal is to get different numbers but avoiding the 7.
Rolling the dice in a same manner can produce same numbers. There are about thirty six numbers that players can make from the dice. There are 6 possible ways that players can get a seven. It means that with any roll, the possibility of the seven appearing will be one in every 6 throws, which are seven to rolls ratio or SSR of six. The casino edge is based on this ratio. Just one dice throw out of every 43 throws of the dice would remove the casino edge and make a break-even game.
Controlled dice throwing is a skill that needs a lot of hard work and patience on the part of the player. But perfecting a dice throw is not a guarantee that the player will win every session on the table. Players should also study how to wager properly to take advantage of the players edge.
