Giving Tips to Dealer in Craps

In playing craps, you may frown on the general rule that you should give tips to dealers. Losing a lot of cash to the casino is not enough, now you have to give some cash to the dealer? It may seem strange for some you but it is only the usual norm to give some tip to the dealers especially if they are a big help to you during a game.

In the casino world, a cash tip is called a toke. Dealers called generous players "George" and players that do not tip are called "stiffs". Casino dealers usually receive only a minimum salary plus the tips that are given. They are like the people that are working in restaurants who rely on tips to augment their income.

The gaming service that the dealer usually provides handling your wagers and payouts, teaching you about the game and just being generally friendly. Dealers in craps usually divide the tips that they get. This makes your task of tipping a little difficult. You may want to give a large tip for the outstanding dealers and small tips for bad dealers. Being a good or bad dealer is not necessarily the measure of the dealing skills of a craps dealer.

If the dealer is honest, polite and helpful but slow during the game, the dealer is still considered to be a good one. If the dealers in craps divide the tips among themselves, how can you make sure that the good dealers get the majority of the tip? The answer is that there is nothing that you can do.

The only thing that you can do is to inform the dealer's colleagues that you are disappointed with the performance of that dealer. If the dealer knew that you are a good tipper then they would reprimand their colleague that is not performing well if they want you to continue giving tips because their income is dependent on the number of tips that they received from their customers.

The good dealers know that if you become displease and stop giving tips, the other customers may also stop from giving tips. If you are having difficulty at a particular game, it is not the problem of the dealer so you should not blame them for your troubles.

If you are having a bad game and you cannot give the same tip compared when you are winning, then minimize your wager but do not completely stop. Remember that you should give tips for a good job by the dealer, not if you are winning or not. But most craps player does not give any tip. If you are one of the few that give tips, it is advantageous for you because the dealers will definitely remember you. You can also earn a lot of rewards by doing so.
