Taking Full Control of Your Fear of the Crap Table
Haven't you heard of the saying to conquer fear is to face fear itself?
Or something like that - what we're really trying to say is that we're going to help you overcome your fear of the complexity of the crap table. We know how long you've been yearning to leave the high pressured poker tables or the serious atmosphere in the blackjack and baccarat tables but you just don't know how to do it because you don't know how to navigate properly when you're face to face with the crap table.
But it's okay - we're here to help you. So take deep breaths, that's it, release them slowly and let's start dissecting the crap table layout.
Obtaining a Chart
Our lessons would proceed in a better fashion if you have a chart or visual presentation of the crap table handy. If you don't, you can always download its image from the Internet. This would only take seconds to complete.
Bets in the Table
The most important rule to remember when it comes to the game is that all bets have its designated areas in the table. So if you're intending to make a pass bet and end up placing in the don't pass bet, too late, too bad - better luck next time.
So be very careful when placing your bets!
Paying Attention to the Labels
The good thing about the crap table is that each betting area is properly labeled - in bold and readable fonts to avoid any confusion. So as long as you pay attention to the labels, there's virtually no chance for your bet to go wrong.
The Betting Structure
In order to fully understand the crap table layout, you first have to learn the different bets used in the game. By understanding what each type of bet means, you'll be able to determine what bet you wish to make and where to put them.
We'll discuss a few types of bets here to illustrate by example.
The Pass and the Don't Pass Bet
These are the basic and generally the easiest bets to make. These areas are neatly labeled in big bold letters so you have no excuse when you still end up making the wrong move or placing your chips in the wrong section of the table.
With the pass bet, you win when the shooter wins. So if he hits 7 or 11, your bet wins but if he hits 2, 3 or 12 - your bet loses. For the don't pass bet, simply reverse the rules or effects of the pass bet.
