All About Craps

Craps is considered to be the loudest and most exciting game in the casino. With an interesting table lay-out, different chips scattered in the table and the excited yell of the players, even those that are only watching the game can be swept away by the excitement of the game.

Craps also possess one of the smallest casino edge but this is only possible if the player will make the right wager. With one type of wager, players can play on even ground with the casino, which means that the casino has a zero house edge.

This is the lone casino game where this phrase is true. The table layout in craps is bigger than the pool table, with wooden guards that surround the outside part of the table. The wooden railing acts as a board to cushion the dice and contains a sponge inside so that when the dice hits it, it will bounce in a random direction. Most table wooden rails also contain grooves where players can put down their chips.

The craps table also features a layout that shows different bets that players can make in craps like the Pass Line and Do not Pass Line. These are just two of the craps wagers that are worth betting on. Players should not let the layout of the table confused them. The basic strategy used in craps is understandable.

A game begins when the shooter produces a seven on the initial roll. The player can make a pass like wager or do not pass line wager before rolling the dice.

If the initial roll is a seven or eleven, it is called a pass. Player who have wagered in the pass line win and those who have wagered in the do not pass line. If the result of the roll is two, three or twelve, it is called craps and players who have wagered on the pass line lose while players who have wagered on the do not pass line wins.

But the players who wagered in the do not pass line will not win if the number 12 or the two comes out during the initial roll. If this happens, the wager is dismissed because neither the gambler nor the casino wins. The pass line and do not pass line wagers are paid equally.

Preventing one of the three craps numbers from winning the game for the do not pass line is what give the casino their small edge of 1.4% on all line wagers. The do not pass bet is up against the house when one of these numbers come out during the roll.

If these numbers do not come out during the roll, players who have wagered in the do not pass line will have an advantage over the casino. If a number aside from seven, eleven, two, three or twelve comeout during the initial roll, it is called a point.

The craps shooter will continue to roll the dice until the point comes out again. Once the craps shooter gets a place number like four, five, six, eight, nine and ten, a lot of different types of wagers that can be made for each throw of the dice until the number seven comes out. But they have all the odds that are advantageous to the casino with the exception of the odds on the line wager and the come wager.

Players should only take note of these two wagers because other wagers have a very high casino advantage. Players should not waste their time and money on other types of wagers.
